Meeting Societal Resource and Environmental Requirements for the
21st Century. October 11-14, 1998. Taos, New Mexico. A conference
organized by the Division of Environmental Geosciences of the
American Association of Petroleum Geologists and sponsored by the
DEG, the AAPG, the AAPG Foundation, the Kansas Geological Survey, the
U.S. Department of Energy, and the U.S. Geological Survey.

Conference goals are to share scientific knowledge bases of geology
and ecology, particularly with those involved in resource and
environmental issues; to identify and prioritize issues and to search
for common grounds between earth and life scientists and
decisionmakers; and to find ways to add information and facts to the
public discussion about resources and environment.
