Who else out here is using FreeMail? I read a review in the June 28th
issue of PC Magazine --and bought their Parent copy-- but I have not
seen other reviews or ads. I am going to purchase their latest product,
'Extended Family Routing,' which lets the free 'Child' copies communicate
with each other through a central parent, but I do not know anyone who is
using this latest program. It is more expensive ($500 vs. just $75 bucks
for the 'Parent') so I would appreciate hearing from anyone who is using
it.
I just saw a 'new and improved' article in the current (sep. 27th) issue
of PC Magazine, which talks about the Extended Family. But, again,
I would like to get some mail from someone using it. I have FreeMail
references, but ......
Our FreeMail 'Parent' has been working fantastic for us. It is a Windows
E-mail system that uses modems and does not require any kind of network;
it was by far the most affordable solution we found for being able to
exchange files and important messages at will. Using it has cut our
overnight FedEx bill from about $300 a day to about $18 a day! It has all
of the features of our old-fashioned MHS/network system: site polling and
automatic file transfers, and good encryption. It is certainly worth
looking
at, and I hope someone will let me know what they think of the router. I
have been giving out many child diskettes (each 'Parent' copy creates an
unlimited number of its own 'children' which are self installing and
configured to be able to directly dial the Parent), and have quite a
network set up now -- here locally and across the country (one of my
programmers recently moved to Switzerland, and he has been sending and
receiving files to and from New York with no problem). If you have some
experience with FreeMail, please leave a message for me here, or e-mail
me
through aol: CarlZorts@aol.com
If you are interested in FreeMail, their voice number is (406) 586-4200
They also have an account with AOL: FreeMail@aol.com, which I have never
used (since I FreeMail them) And, if anyone knows of similar Windows
E-mail
packages, let me know.
