loading standard jpg files is a trivial (coding problem) with QuickTime...

Quicktime can do decompression of jpeg images... however as I've
found in the past they (the images) have to have a PICT header in
order to do it. JPEG files on the Macintosh are just standard JPEG
files with a (short and mellow) PICT header on top of them.

I've hacked the header out of jpeg pict files using a text editor (on
a machine running NeXTStep) and never had any problem loading those
files on a machine that knows neither (a) what Quicktime is and (b)
what PICT files are. (Well, the (a) case is about to change but
anyway I'm digressing...)

Thus, I'd suspect that there may be some truth to the rumor that
Authorware can load standard jpg files somehow... since implementing
this functionality on the Macintosh is simply trivial. :-)

Would someone like to tell us how to load jpeg files in Authorware on
the Macintosh assuming it _is_ possible?
