I think that what that Fernandez guy meant was that
many Basque movies are actually produced in Spanish,
though I must point out that this is not always the
case, & there are indeed new movies being filmed in
Basque --not an awful lot, I admit-- both for the
cinema & television. But then everyone knows that the
key to the success of any movie lies on its ability
to reach a large audience (& this is likelier to happen
when a Basque movie is dubbed.. e.g. into Spanish?).
Unfortunately subtitles are not very widespread
in BC.
