Greetings All,
I am preparing a presentation which includes a discussion of processor
speed equalization factors that are used in computing billing. I have
quite a bit of anecdotal information, but I have not seen any emperical
studies.
If anyone knows of any published studies, I would appreciate a
reference. If not, would you please respond to these questions.
1. Approximatly how much does your data center bill in a year?
2. How do you compute processor speed factors,
A. Service Unit Ratings
B. Benchmark Analysis
C. Other
3. How accurate do you think your factors are:
A. Under +/- 5%
B. +/- 5 to 8%
C. +/- 8 to 10%
D. +/- 10 to 15%
E. +/- 15 to 20%
F. +/- 20 to 30%
G. over +/- 30%
4. Do you use quantative methods to set and monitor these speed factors?
5. What signals your installation to recompute processor speed factors?
If you do not want to respond over the list, please respond to
Greg Marquiss at marquiss@wln.com
Thank you for your time.
- Greg
