Of course the person that advocates illegal activity is not normally the one that gets arrested and prosecuted. There have been cases where that has been the case though. Have you ever heard the term inciting? The point here is not whether copying the ROMs is illegal it is the fact that he is advocating somebody else to do the copying and distributing of said copyrighted materials and posting them on an FTP site which can cause headaches for sysadmin(s) there if there were an inquiry. The worst part of all this is you and others don't ask the right question: Is it moral to distribute copyrighted material without permission? I don't care who owns the material, my opinion (which just happens to be backed by the laws of the country) is that if you don't have permission to distribute the material from the owner of the copyright then you are not morally or legally safe in doing so. -Carl
