I down loadeed the MIDIMOD from wu archives and installed >it in my boot file. (COCO3, 512K w/HD) Boot works fine but when I have >a word processor runnning in w7 and try : > list test2 >/midi >in w10 I get a memory error - If i remeber right it was error 207. >Mfree shows about 250K left, so there is no real memory problem. Anyone know if this is one of the MIDI descriptors & drivers I uploaded some years ago, or someone else's? Sounds like this thing is trying to grab a bunch of System Memory, which is the "standard" way to die of #207 thrist in an ocean of MFREE. >Iniz'ing midi sort of worked but not well (system hang up as I remember >- it's tough getting old) However if I close down the ap in w7 the >above line works great. SPeaking of getting old, I don't recall whether I INIZ my /MIDI in my Startup file or not. Probably do. I know that my drivers don't do much buffering at all, so should not need much memory space of any kind. > Test2 is an output file from a patch editor for the PSS-480, >that I'm working on. It creates the data to dump to the 5 programable >banks. So far I have much of the info listed in the manual implemented >and can send the data to the synth with out errors. first version Great! PSS480 is one of my favorites, and used on almost all of Ed Hathaway's (Kala Soft) music disks. 2-3 years ago I downloaded from Delphi PED, a PSS480 patch editor written in Basic09 if I recall right. It was sort of graphic, using text screens. It worked, but I didn't mess with it a whole lot, then it got "lost" on my HD for a while. I had intended, at one of my CocoFest MIDI seminars, to run it in one window while running UME in another. Just to show the value of multi-tasking in MIDI. Don't know if PED could do anything with patches 101-105. Can yours diddle any of the parameters not accessible from the front panel? There was also on one of those services a program MTPanel for the MT-32. I'd be glad to see another such program available. THanks Tim. --mike k
