CHINGARI, a Madison, WI, based volunteer collective is producing a radio
series that critically examines the General Agreement on Tarriffs and
Trade (GATT), and its impact on South Asia (esp. India, Pakistan,
Bangladesh and Sri Lanka). The series will have 5 parts (each roughly 22
minutes) covering political, economic, legal and social implications of
GATT, and will explore non-isolationist, progressive alternatives to
that treaty. We will be speaking to academics, activists and
politicians involved with international trade issues, north-south
relations, environnment and labor issues, etc.

The series will air on WORT 89.9 FM in Madison WI, Mondays at 7 p.m.,
July 4 through August 1.

If you are interested in obtaining a copy of this series (available on
cassette in early August; $10.00 or in exchange for other third world
public affairs programming) for either community radio, or
personal/organizational use, please let us know.

We look forward to hearing from you!!
