We are using EndNote 1.3 on a Novell Network.  One of our users wants to 
have his own JOURNAL.EN file in his local area, separate from the general 
departmental journals file.  Experiment shows that ENPLUS.PRF directs the 
program to a directory for JOURNALS.EN in the following way:

If JOURNALS.EN is not present in the local working directory.  ENPLUS 
searches for it in the program directory.  If JOURNALS.EN is present there
that directory is locked into the user's local ENPLUS.PRF.   Any JOURNALS.EN
subsequently copied to the local area is then totally ignored and cannot be 
accessed, unless the copy in the program directory is first removed,  If that 
is done the user's ENPLUS.PRF is modified to point to the local directory and 
thereafter that user cannot access the general journals file even when it has 
been restored.

Our usage is for a department publications list and for separate user 
bibliographies.  It is fairly important that at least some of us can 
control which journals file we are using.  We may have missed something 
obvious, but so far haven't found any way of switching between them.

Any advice would be appreciated.  I apologise if I should have been able to 
find this in an FAQ somewhere.
