It wasn't a problem when your ISP was well.sf.ca.us.  I find it
difficult to believe that your ISP cannot get this group, particularly
in the Bay Area.  If it were me, I would say "Accessing this group is
a key and important aspect of our customer service.  If you cannot
supply it by ___, we will need to find an ISP that can."  If they
value your business, they will get it. 

In the past, I had recommended EndNote to colleagues partially due to
the great online technical support.  So ultimately it may affect your
business too.
