Followup to problem reported wednesday

VMTAPE 4.3c going into weeds during initialization

Got great response to followup call - SCI put team effort on problem -
mainly because of variable messages/failures depending on size of
memory

Final analysis = under 4.2, you could put "  * comment " on the end
of each "SERIES" statement in the config to document purpose of each
set of tapes. Evidently the parser in 4.3 has been changed such that
it only recognises the comment indicator "*" in col 1 ( at least when
processing "SERIES" statements ) - if it hits one after the REEL/CART
parameter, it attempts to "process" it and goes so far into the weeds
that the eventual error message had nothing to do with actual problem.

All I had to do was move comments from the series statements and insert
them on a comment line prior to each series statement ( I would NEVER
have figured that one out myself ! )

Well 4 products into test, 4 to go - that's much further than I ever
got with the preceding 3 product tapes - if the weather-person is
wrong about the ice-storm tonight, I may be able to catch up over
the weekend. ( oops - did I just guarantee power loss typing that ? )

Haven't heard any comments yet re: vmbackup 5.3  C / D / E / F ?
