When we upgraded from VMBACKUP 5.3 to VMBACKUP/E we recognized the
same degradation in usage of the catalog disk.
But I can tell you following:
1. till Jan92 with VMBACKUP 5.2 we used 60% of about 800 cyl 3380
2. from Jan92 to Apr92 with VMBACKUP 5.3 the utilization grows to 95%
3. in Apr92 we went to VMBACKUP/E and within the next 6 weeks the
utilization goes down to normal level of 60%
As far as I remember there was a note within the upgrade information
that this is a fixed problem.
