Your public schools have access to the internet!? It's great to hear that
some public schools are moving into the 1990's. Actually, ours do, but it
is limited from what I understand. I don't beleive they have WWW yet, just
telnet & gopher. Not real sure though. I am certain they do not have dial
up access though. I know too many teachers who keep asking me about e-mail.
But I would sure like to hear if there is someone out there from Baltimore
County PS, MD, who will refute me.

At the university I work at, dial up is available to all. However, only
terminal emualtion with telnet, ftp, gopher, etc. Currently PPP - WWW
access - is available only to faculty. I am sure this will change soon,
though. The students who live off campus (i.e., not in the dorms where they
have ethernet) have been asking for PPP as the professors are making use of
the web for assignments, required research, etc. So, the time is coming.

It is necessary to phase things in. Trying to do too much too quickly can
be a real headache.
