As near as we can tell, Let me start by saying we have a lab full of 7100/80's on 7.5.1 with 1.5d64 and 16MB of RAM configured to use 8MB of Virtual Memory (for a total of 24). Now, since you have the VM stoarge file ignored, and you say it's actually ignored, the only guess I have is that since the Virtual Memory settings are stored in PRAM also, you are maybe using RRHelper to restore settings... and the RRHelper extension was made when VM was not turned on. This is just a guess.... I'm not trying to step on toes. What you might try if you'r not using RRHelper is to use it and set VM to 24MB and have RRDist distribute the built extension. Something is getting reset when RR runs. There is no "Memory Preferences" it's stored in PRAM. So, maybe the VM file is missing (though that would just give an error.. I think) or PRAM is getting reset to not have VM on. hope this helps. tom therzog@willamette.edu
