----------- Original message below forwarded by NETTRAIN moderator ------------ Date: Fri, 29 Jan 1993 12:51:43 -0800 (PST) From: Carol Brand <cbrand@nwnet.net> If you are concerned about using a server during peak times, you can do a couple of things. 1. Hold your class in the evenings. 2. Hold your class on a weekend. 3. FTP to sites in other time zones, such as sun0.urz.uni-heidelberg.de I really believe that it is important to let participants have hands-on experience with Internet tools. I've done followup support for participants from both lecture and hands-on classes. The hand-on participants almost always have fewer questions and a better understanding of the FTP process. Hope that helps :^) -Carol > . > I have an "Introduction to Telnet/FTP" workshop that I offer each > semester. I mostly teach the Telnet command, and I just *talk* about > how to use FTP.
