Finally - someone finding the faux world doesn't represent the real world
on the inet...

(Ms Materi, I suggest testing cookie sites (the transactional norm) with
a free inet dial-up site: there are quite a few "freebees" that interface
with any cookie-loving browser, and who make a living by advertising via
small pop-up desktop windows Email privately if you need URLs.)

I'm a net trainer out of necessity! My associates and I must know the
latest profitable site techniques, and _any_ change made by the
competition.

Sources include:

1) Monitoring site constructions designed for people who have already
made their reputations and are seeking "a presence" on the net. Stick to
my own background: it is a great mistake to follow their lead unless
tactics are understood - especially the risks.

2) Any computer company management source that covers operational
problems on the net.

3) Analysis of high traffic models: any reason why traffic diverts to a
particular site before heading off to another (high traffic) site - is
valuable.

4) App-maker tech conferences. Attend!, eat pastry and discover where the
"gray areas" are (the hot spots) in developing commercial web sites: the
important questions cause the speaker to say things like, "we're
developing that solution right now in version 2.0...," or "we have
partner-companies who provide that interface..." The gaps I look for.

5) Share everything you learn to focus "new eyes" on each of these areas.
