In the past, this list has covered the topic of "low end" on-line testing software such as Test Pilot. Our faculty have determined these programs are not robust enough for their academic needs. Some faculty are now proposing we licence a full on-line suite (such as WebCT) JUST to get the testing module. We're exploring this option, but a cost / benefit analysis leads us into another direction. By the time the full costs of implementing such a full featured suite are tallied - server costs, administrative costs, licensing fees, faculty training - we're now approaching the price of "high end" testing packages often used in industry for CBT. Do any of you have experience with a "high end" testing package in an educational setting? If such packages exist, we'll set up test platforms for our faculty to evaluate the products. Thanks, Terry Terry Dugas Office of Distance Teaching and Learning Florida Gulf Coast University
