I know that in Virginia we have state (but OSHA approved)
statements of the necessary airflow for a classroom. I do not
know how much that is - probably could find out, if desired.
Of course, airflow is often more a result of the
heating/ventilation system rather than "open" windows, because
during various seasons of the year the teacher may choose to
have the windows closed; yet airflow is hopefully maintained by
the ventilation system.
