There is a nice nuclear simulator available for the PC, called PAX. I think it came out of Eastern Europe, but is very graphical, and simple to use. The students must control a plant for 250 days, try and generate as much power as possible without scramming the reactor. It is almost a video game, but it has a lot of scientific basis. I picked up the program at Penn State, from the Breazeale Reactor. If you send them a floppy, they might give you a copy of the disk.
