Physics Graphics

As of now all my tests, lab sheets, homeworks etc are on
disk in Microsoft word files, but I still draw all my pictures
by hand -rather clumsily. I want to start incorporating my
diagrams into my documents, but I have trouble being precise
enough with Windows Paintbrush or the Word Drawing tools.

Does anyone know of a more precise graphics program that
can generate files that can be incorporated into Word
documents - without going to the extreme of using AutoCad?
Or does anyone know where I can purchase some physics and
chemistry clipart?

  Thanks for your help.
