Nobody else seemed to jump in here. Don't know how complex your documents are or the volume of documents. Anyway a quick and dirty would be to format them do some aribitray device type like 2741 or 3827 and download to PC for WYSIWYG processing with your PC document processor. If you have imbedded graphics and stuff you could format with DCF for 3820 processing and then use GDQF to convert to TIFF or whatever you PC processor likes. If you have WIN/AFP you can go direct with no conversion at all. The one avenue that seems straight forward, but is obtuse is to format as POSTSCRIPT device(PSA). DCF goes out of it's way to make this difficult. If you choose ASCII as a parameter they make these translation vectors for EBCDIC to ASCII in the POSTSCRIPT file. They claim this is the "best" method to maintain aspect ratios and such. This is well and good, but if you try to wing to a LAN server it usually flips the translate bit on and we get garbage on our PORTSCRIPT printers. EDWARD J.
