You can send an email to cim@ifi.uio.no, and ask about this.

Kirkerud's book does not contains information about cim.
It is however a good book on Simula.

I have not used any debugging tools for the cim compiler, but you should
be able to use a debugger like xdb. In order to get xdb working cim must
insert some info into the C code when it translates Simula into C.
Try to ask somone at cim@ifi.uio.no.

I know that some C++ compilers use the method above when C++ is translated
into C.

PS:

1) cim can also be obtained from the anonymous ftp server ifi.uio.no in
   the directory /pub/cim

2) Some nice tools for Simula can also be found on the above mentioned ftp
server. File: /pub/Simulatools.tar.Z (filetools, promptools, settools ++)
These tools are used a lot in Kirkeruds book.
