Hi Dave,

The freqs used here in STL NWS office are:

146.67MHZ which is the main freq.
145.33Mhz which is linked to Steelville, Mo. via 147.045 repeater. This freq is
 also linked to
Columbia Mo. via the 444.955Mhz repeater.
443.00 Mhz which is linked to a wide area repeater in western Illinois
 (145.13Mhz).

For packet we use 144.99Mhz for ARESPACK which there is a form for collecting
weather reports and damage reports. There is also a UHF packet system called
WXWIRE on the local packet BBS that sends out NWS products such as watches
 statements and RCM products.
You can log in to the TAPR WWW page and download a program that decodes the RCM
 product .

We just completed installation of a 80' tower at the NWS office which allows us
to reach some of the fringe repeaters but we will monitor the above freqs.

As far as local nets in your area I don't know of any at the present time.
Rolla was moved to Springfield NWS office.

In the STL area there is a group know as the Missouri-Illinois Regional Skywarn
Assoc. (MIRSA). They meet every two months to share ideas and training info.
But, for the most part each area operate their net the way they want know what
info the NWS needs. Presently there are some 15 or so nets operated on
different repeaters with the net operated at the STLNWS office being a hub.
Hopes this helps let me know if you would like more info. You should have easy
access to the hub from the 147.045 repeater which has coverage down to Ft L.
 Wood.

Cheers
