The comments are far from typical. As a Red Cross volunteer, I have been involved with several damage assessments from beginning to end. The Red Cross tries to complete a Preliminary Damage Assessment (PDA) in twenty-four hours. I have seen this initial assessment be the assembly of several organizations' damage assessments. After the PDA, the Red Cross has returned to the field to complete the detailed assessment. In my experience, it has taken up to several days to complete a detailed damage assessment. We certainly did not pack up and leave. paul N1LNA Doug Younker wrote: > > How many other list subscribers can confirm thecomments of Merk's are > typical of the Red Cross Chapters they are familiar with?
