I first heard tales of " generosity" from my Grandmother, an Army Nurse in WWII. The red cross had come to visit her and her field hospital after it fell behinf Rommell's lines in N. Africa. Those humble folks SOLD CHOCOLATE, CIGARETTS, COFFEE ... They didn't give them out, Just like today. A friend of mine in Punta Gorda Fla. ( a retired Massachusetts fire fighter) Went to a nearby fire to offer any help he could, and saw the red cross SELLING firefighters cold drinks and sandwiches. Further, As an Instructor of C.P.R. and first aid classes, I can tell you that the prices Red Cross charge are obscene. I left them and became recertified by the American Heart Association. Red Cross is there to Make Money on other peoples misfortune. Sure they have done good, but they fail to mention they sometimes charge a wopping fee. 73 de N1WSC Sean +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ To unsubscribe from SKYWARN send e-mail to LISTSERV@PO.UIUC.EDU with "unsub skywarn" in the body of your message.
