One advantage of RealAudio is that people from far outside the region
can listen in and perhaps learn something. If a major severe weather event
is affecting say the DFW area (a place with a large, "professional" spotter
emplacement), a lot of us could learn something by monitoring --even if
we don't know all the details about how the SKYWARN group is organized.

I've run into a lot of hams which for some reason believe they are
expert communicators just because they have a ham license. When these
people try to interact with a high-speed, high-volume SKYWARN nets
(like might been found in DFW or Chicago) they often get an ear full from
the net control operator. I reminds me of watching a 90 year old lady
attempting to enter a busy freeway or a student pilot attempting to
interact with an air traffic controller at a busy airport. RealAudio,
especially with some web page descriptions, would be a good place
to teach people how nets operate and show spotters why it's important
to communicate in short, concise, terms.
