Adjusted League Unimpeachable
Synopsis Special Number Three
Origins Volume the Third
"Unorthodox Biochemical Revenge"
Adjusted League Unimpeachable Situation Log 004923371, Mission Priority Alpha
Two, Trashman commanding. Log Coded for Automatic Transmission to Primary
Reinforcements List <<Awesome Force; CalForce; Defense Squad>> following
36 Hour Delay without contact from Primary Mission Force. Mission Type,
Search and Rescue, Hostage Protocols in effect.
During mid-afternoon excursion on personal business to Boston mercantile
district, ALU Primary Member Unorthodox Girl and Probationary member
Dangerousgirl separated. In and around this time, Emergency Beacon 255321-AC
coded to Unorthodox Lass showed disfunction. ALU Primary Member Masked Bruce
made contact with Dangerousgirl, who indicated that no situation was in
progress. Based on this report, and on multiple failures of said Beacon in
past, Masked Bruce made decision to not report incident or log Alert Condition.
Disciplinary Review postponed pending Situation Resolution.
Dangerousgirl, after discovering absence of Unorthodox Girl, initiated a
search without contacting Command, despite her knowledge of the loss of Locator
Beacon. Reasons for this action are presumed to be embarrassment over poor
judgement. Disciplinary Review postponed pending Situation Resolution. After
several hours, Dangerousgirl returned to Command and reported the missing
status of Unorthodox Lass. At this time, ALU was placed on Full Alert, and ALU
Member Hostage Protocols were activated and Search and Rescue Procedures were
initiated. During executive sessions to plan patterns of search, Affiliated
Hero Healer [[See CalForce, Inactive Roster, Full Confidence Profile]] arrived
at Command on Personal Business. Upon request, Healer agreed to assist in
procedures.
After failure to determine whereabouts of Unorthodox Girl via standard
procedures, Healer attempted Active Memory Regression techniques with
Dangerousgirl. This process entailed Healer using her telepathic power, with
the permission and assistance of Dangerousgirl, to directly enter the
thought/personality of Dangerousgirl and access the memories of the last time
Dangerousgirl saw Unorthodox Lass. During this regression, Healer recognized
several members of the government's Mega-Intelligence Bureau. It was her
belief that the Mega-Intelligence Bureau has seized Unorthodox Girl as a part
of their continuing investigations into Paranormality. Healer also indicates
that Hostage Protocols should remain in effect, and that the psychological
traumas Unorthodox Lass has suffered and is likely continuing to suffer cannot
be underestimated.
Masked Bruce determined that Command Base was under audio surveillance.
Masked Bruce and Artificial Intelligence JOEL initiated a careful deception,
wherein ALU member voices continue to be heard in a sophisticated simulation
within the Command Base, while Primary, Probationary and Support Members
relocate Command in X.D.F.S. Crimson Permanent Assurance.
Once in the Crimson Permanent Assurance, and able to speak freely, we were
contacted by Andy Awesome and Rat, of the Awesome Force. They had received a
transmission by the M00se Illuminati, which indicated that Unorthodox Girl was
being held at a Mega-Intelligence Bureau laboratory in the vicinity of
Hartford, Connecticut. We are about to proceed with a Search of the area. The
difficulties remain that it is the United States Government itself we are
opposing and that if we are detected before we locate Unorthodox Lass, standard
procedure would be to move her or dispose of her.

UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT
MEGA-INTELLIGENCE BUREAU
Progress Report
on
Project: Unorthodox Scheme
Special Special Agent Thomas A. Kim
supervising agent
The PUS project has gone exactly according to schedule. Ordered by the
MIB Director in an effort to retrieve a biochemical reagent developed by Beta
Level Paranorm Andy Awesome as a chemical medium for processes involving his
radical Quantum Absurdity Theory. Satellite photographs of the decimated
original Awesome Force Headquarters revealed the one sample of the Unorthodox
Reagent was consumed by Trudy Angela Michelle Unorthodox ne Galloway, daughter
of Doctor Stanley Unorthodox, who she had acted against in a paranormal battle
on the site. The Reagent triggered Metagenetic Adaption Syndrome in
Unorthodox, causing her to develop powers of unknown parameters rated at the
Delta Level. With said powers, she joined the Adjusted League Unimpeachable as
Unorthodox Lass (sometimes known as Unorthodox Girl).
We performed an extraction on Unorthodox from Government Center in Boston,
Massachusetts, avoiding detection in process. We then began a series of
experimentation overseen by the Director's own Senior Staff, Special Agents
Olson, Bankert, Paul, Pongress and Burns. Several senior researchers,
codenamed Doctors Gold, Red, Black, Green and Blue have been assigned to study
the activities, personality, physical, biophysical and biochemical responses of
the subject, in an effort to duplicate Awesome's formula. They are operating
under Doctor Unorthodox, codenamed Doctor Gray. Following General Protocol
Fourteen, we instituted a program of systematic discomfort, designed to
disorient Unorthodox and make her more tractable. Periods of sleep depravation
and fasting were accompanied by a sterile, unempathetic environment. We
coupled this with a computer simulation designed to convince Unorthodox that we
also held her companion, Dangerousgirl, and that Unorthodox's resistance would
prove hazardous to Dangerousgirl. After utilizing certain techniques to
chasten Unorthodox through violations of body modesty and to exercise a certain
control over her, we performed a physical and began a program of Psychological
Evaluation under Doctor Blue. We implanted probes to measure the alterations
of biochemistry and attempted to coerce active participation. When this
failed, we entered stage two conditions, P.O.W. scenario C, involving
violations of earliest taboos. This, coupled by further psychological
evaluation and a forced combat exercise have given us valuable information.
Pharmacological solutions have proven inadequate.
Special Agent Olson, as Project head, has performed well, if perhaps too
dispassionately. The Project has been complicated by the presence of Special
Special Agent Richard Less, who has, perhaps, his own agenda.
At this time, there are two possible conclusions to the project. Either
we shall find the formula we are looking for from Unorthodox's tests, whereupon
we shall disorient her further, or we shall be forced to dissect the subject
for more invasive probes. The likelihood of her confederates locating her and
attempting a rescue are minimal, as all reports show them following a blind
trail
ADDENDUM: We have initiated Procedure C, presenting falsified evidence to
Unorthodox that suggests her teammates consider her dead. Her reaction has
been, predictably, one of depression. It is thought this could be manipulated
to our benefit.

Executive Notes (tm) The Journal February 22, 1994
of
Andrew Goodwin
As I write this, Linda has gone for a shower and fluffing. I find myself
wondering more and more how I ever lasted as the cool impersonal head of the
Force, without someone I could relax around. I rely more on her daily, even as
I find my own burdens fading. It's a happy feeling -- one I've grown to like a
lot. It's nice to know there's someone who I don't *have* to be `awesome' for.
She's still been on my case about Unorthodox Girl, though.
I still don't see what choice we had. Public confidence in the Awesome
Force is at its lowest ebb. The deaths of Skids and Miche are seen as the
results of the incompetence of the leader -- myself. That such perceptions are
false do not change those perceptions. My leading the Awesome Force on an
attack of a U.S. Government project could be turned sharply against us. And my
recruiting of Chris, Anne and Damien, along with the retirement of Bink and
Kevi is seen as further `degenerations' of the team. I know that the team's as
good or better than they've ever been -- but they deserve a chance to prove it
without more bad press.
And besides -- Rat still believes that we're the best of the best. The
cream of the crop. And she -- and She-Devil, T, and Figuremaster with her --
all suffer from a subconscious belief that we're the only team of Superguys
capable of finding our buttocks with a road map. But recent events have proven
to me how good the Defense Squad, CalForce, Team M.E.C.H.A., Force Ten and the
rest really are -- and the Adjusted League Unimpeachable is definitely strong
in that list.
Why did the M00se Illuminati send that message to me? If they have a
concern, why aren't they acting on their own? And why -- *why* did Unorthodox
Girl drink my old experiment -- given that the compound is dangerously
unstable.
And most of all -- will I ever be able to forgive myself if Unorthodox
Lass dies?

March 4
Plans go apace.
I have forged a trust bond with Trudy Unorthodox, Stanley Unorthodox, have
proven my loyalty to the MIB, and acted the good little M00se Illuminati Agent.
So far, I've successfully managed to convince every separate individual and
group that I am on their side. Doctor "Blue" has been an astounding success.
I'll admit, it's interesting. While Trudy's no more than a stepping
stone, so that I can get a foothold into the M.I.B., she is a fascinating
subject. She hates her father, blaming him for everything. She's a study in
bravado, but in her heart she's a child, with a malformed Ego.
Interesting, to be certain, but in the end she's a way at Doctor
Unorthodox. And *that* is getting very interesting indeed.

I am not insane
I am not at fault
I am not wrong
I am not dead
I am myself
And they do not own me
