1997 Golden Grunions Nominations.

Hail and welcome to the 1997 Grunions Awards. These, the awards that we,
the Superguy Community, hand out like so many pellets of Pez every year,
have come 'round again, and it's time for you, the assorted nabobs of the
wide, wide world out there beyond our own twisted minds to remind us that,
yes, by gosh, there's no accounting for taste.

So. Right now, we'd like you to nominate episodes, authors, and characters
in a myriad of nifty categories, helpfully divided into two sorts. We have
the major categories, which are the ones that are actually complimentary,
and we have the technical categories, which are the ones that are, well,
there for a giggle.

The nominating process will run through Feb. 7th, and there are a few things
we'd like to ask of y'all.

First, we've set up two web pages for the nominations process. Please use
them. These attractive and almost useful pages (locations included a bit
later in this message) make things a whole heck of a lot easier for me,
the vote-tabulator, and as such, I'd prefer it if y'all use them to
nominate things.)

Let me rephrase that: Unless y'all make arrangements with me (me, that is
to say, rsfurr@curie.uncg.edu,) beforehand, nominations that come in
*not* in the format that I get from the web page, your nominations will
certainly be dropped to the last in priority to handle, and, depending
on how things go, might be, oh, forgotten. Or given concrete shoes and
an official Mafia swimming lesson. Whichever.

To continue: The categories for nominations are on the web pages, but
if you have a question about whether or not a particular subject is
a viable nominee for a particular major category, feel free to email
me at the above address. (note: That's major categories. Technicals,
for the most part, are pretty gosh-darn flexible. We'll cope with
almost anything you nominate.) We also ask that you limit your
major nominations to one trip through the web page; with technical,
the sky's the limit. Go wild.

To conclude:
The major categories are at:
http://www.eyrie.org/cgi-bin/mailmerge/superguy/grunions/major.tmpl
The technicals are at:
http://www.eyrie.org/cgi-bin/mailmerge/superguy/grunions/tech.tmpl

(But you only have to remember one; each one has a link to the other.)
