Since it arrived at 5:30 pm yesterday I couldn't respond earlier. On Wed, 22 Jan 92 08:02:07 PST Dwight M. McCann said: >I have been asked to provide a service machine that will accept NETDATA [..] Pipelines can do most of the things you want. a) fast read on RDR b) deblocking of NETDATA and extracting the TEXTUNITs of netdata files c) output to tape or uro device d) writing of SL tapes It's not a five minute task to code it - and especially if you want to make it watertight - but it's possible and quite simple and once it works sure something you'll be happy with ;-). I've succesfully created multivolume tapes with QSAM, the only problem is that the standard CMS exit DMSTVI doesn't support volume switch and you'd have to find a replacement (no problem if you're using System Center's VMTAPE for example). Drop me a note if you want to try pipes and need assistance. Christian
