Hi Shawn,  
  
    as far as I know, TClientDataSet comes with Enterprise edition. I think
you could use ADO recordsets (instead of TClientDataSet), even without
ADOExpress. However,I haven't tried to use ADO without ADOExpress, so I can't
be able to help you.   
Borland sells ADOExpress as optional software pack for use with BCB5 Pro.
ADOExpress has many functionalities as such as TClientDataSet. In fact, for
example, you can sort (in memory) an ADO recordset, even filtering it, batch
updating it, and so on...
