SQL Server identity field

I am using an identity field in my database that automatically incements
when a new row is added. When I try to insert a row from a TDBGrid
component using a TTable component as the dataset I get an error stating
that the field, that is the identity field, requires a value. Has
anyone had this problem and if so is there a way to get around it?
Thanks.
