You have not supplied much information about your application and what you're attempting to do with it. I assume that the application is nTier, that is, you have at least a client app. and an application server app. First of all, a trigger is not accessible from your application. Triggers are invoked by the database server. To utilize a stored procedure you first need to have the procedure written and installed in the database server. Next, place a TStoredProc object on your remote data module and provide values for the necessary properties such as DatabaseName, Params, StoredProcName, etc. If you have supplied values for the name of the database and stored proc, you can set the Active property to true to run the proc. This will automatically fill in the Params items even though you'll probably get an exception. There are generally at least two parameter items, an input parameter and a result set, or output parameter. Reset the Active property to false. Once the app. server is set up, install a TClientDataSet ( CDS ) object on your client data module ( or main form if you're not using a DM ), and link it to the stored proc object on your app. server. You will need to write the necessary code to add the input item or items to the Params property of your stored proc dataset. Your code can then set the CDS Active property to true. This will pass the parameters up the pipe and invoke the stored proc.
