Hi there

I want to create a multi tiered CppBuilder application to edit data,
stored in multiple, nested tables (MS-SQL-Server or ORACLE database).
I use CORBA (VisiBroker) and MIDAS for Client-Server-Communication.

When I provide my ClientDataset with data from an appropriate SQL
statement on the
server, it works fine for data display, even for local edit (edit on the
ClientDataset),
but I can't write the changed data back to the database.
May be, because the data has to be written into different tables.
Question 1 :
What are the appropriate concepts to cover my requirements and what kind
of
components or methods do I have to apply ?
Question 2 :
When I do local edit (edit on the ClientDataset), I might get
inconsistent data within
the ClientDataset (and the associated displays), because the
ClientDataset does not know
about the dependencies between the different nested tables.
How can I avoid this or what kind of components or methods do I have to
apply to cover this.

Can anybody out there give me a helping hand ?

Thanks

Michael
