For example, if you're running Swedish Windows then MessageBox will yield Swedish text - but no button graphics, since Windows buttons are generic. >2)MessageDlg >Here is the problem. MessageDlg is a Borland VCL function that conveniently (or NOT so conveniently) uses Borland's derivations of buttons with the "check mark" and "X" for OK and Cancel, etc. The text for these buttons is buried in the code for the VCL and therefore a little trickier to get translated. There exist various products on the market to assist in translation processes. One common theme they have is the idea of scanning the programmer's source files for all occurences of text strings and replacing with some indirect method of reference (STRINGTABLE or function call, etc.). The programmer is then typically presented with some sort of database utility to enter foreign language strings side by side with their English counterparts. A few mouse clicks and a recompile and the application now speaks a foreign language. Almost... The whole process is tougher than it sounds. Some of the available tools to do this all suffer from some limitations, in some cases related to the very thing you are trying to do. One product scans source files but misses or ignores text embedded in Builder form files. Another will catch that but won't scan your files for you - need to do that manually. But there are several products available, some research into them is in order. One product I have personal experience with is TSILANG: (see http://www.sicomponents.com) Not bad and inexpensive. Some quirks but the developer is responsive to suggestions and bug reports. Another product to consider but costly ($2000 US): http://www.multilizer.com/solutions/products/ Others are available, do some internet searches. One thing is for certain - work by you is necessary to provide finishing touches. Particularly if you use currency or time strings. The you must deal with locale specific windows calls. Lots of learning curve here... Hope this has helped. Maybe check out a book by Nadine Kano, Microsoft Press I think. Good information about internationalization issues for Windows programs. Good luck, Steve
