I have C++ Builder 6 and have an application where I need to be able to display Chinese and Japanese. Basically, I don't need anything fancy but simply to be able to print out Unicode Chinese and Japanese text. (I have designed a system that segments Chinese & Japanese text into "words". I need a way to see the output to ensure it is working right). What is the best way to display Chinese or Japanese text? Are there any components that take Unicode? (An editor component would be best, labels would be ok, any other alternatives would be fine too -- I just need to be able to print out Unicode Chinese and Japanese text.) Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, -Art

If it's only in a few places such as an app that won't be translated to Chinese and just needs to be able to show captions or somesuch then you can paint the text yourself using TextOutW. For something like a TLabel it's pretty trvial but for something like TListView it begins to get complicated :) If you're looking to write an application that is fully Unicode enabled so that it can be translated to Chinese or Japanese then you probably do need a proper set of Unicode components. For translation I personally favour: http://www.sicomponents.com/tsilang1.html But there are also the TNT components: http://www.tntware.com/delphicontrols/unicode/ -- Andrue Cope [TeamB] [Bicester, Uk] http://info.borland.com/newsgroups/guide.html
