I really appreciate the help, we're scheduled to go live with the 
customer on the 28th (Mondya).  I'm getting desparate.  As I said, we 
ran a lot of test messages that I generated and the code seemed to work 
flawlessly.  We only discovered this on Friday PM, when we got the 
customer to send these test messages.  Needless to say, I was surprised.

1st - I tried to force the system to look at Msg->Body first because
       I didn't expect any message parts.
       Memo1->Lines->AddStrings(Msg->Body);   // this gives blank screen

       Tried
       Memo1->Text = Msg->Body->Text;
       looking at Msg->Body->Text, I find that it is NULL

2nd - (Msg->MessageParts->Count) is found to be equal to 1
       That steps through the for loop.  On the first pass, the if
       ment ... if (dynamic_cast...... evaluates as true

       then the following line executes
	Memo1->Lines->AddStrings(dynamic_cast<TIdText*>(Msg->MessageParts->Items[i])->Body);

	but I still have a blank screen.  I tried substituting a TStringList 
for the memo box, and when the modified code executes
the StringList->Count is 0.

This is our own mailserver, which gives me direct access to the mail. 
Following is the message directly from the mail file which looks exactly 
like the message received using Eudora.
