Hi all I am using BCB6 and Indy9? version. I am downloading files from HTTP server by TldHTTP control and saving to disk, which works fine. In one of my pc, where the Antivirus Kaspersky is enabled, i can't download the files and create to the local disk. If i disable the antivirus, it works. Is there any way set my application as trusted program. or something else. I am sory if this question doesn't belong to the newsgroup. Thanks SA

All depends on Kaspersky. You will need to investigate and create exceptions in the antivirus software itself. Advice: Do investigate and resolve it (this should not be a big problem) Then add code to detect Kaspersky and warn users / administrators that Kaspersky may affect you problem. In your help, add the steps to then create the exception. This will reduce your support load. bar wrote: > Hi all > > I am using BCB6 and Indy9? version. > I am downloading files from HTTP server by TldHTTP control and saving to > disk, which works fine. > In one of my pc, where the Antivirus Kaspersky is enabled, i can't download > the files and create to the local disk. > If i disable the antivirus, it works. > Is there any way set my application as trusted program. or something else. > > I am sory if this question doesn't belong to the newsgroup. > > Thanks > SA > >

Or maybe download to a trusted folder. Gambit

You are not downloading to the "All Users" folder itself, are you? You have to make your own subfolder underneath it and give it permissions to everyone beforehand. Gambit

Either the admin can do it manually via the folder properties after creating the folders, or your code can do it programmably while creating the folders. The CreateDirectory() function has a SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES parameter for you to specify security rights with. Gambit

Since the user can move these standard paths around, and the paths change from one OS version to the next, it isn't good to use hard-coded paths to MyDocuments. See for a list of these paths. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb762494(VS.85).aspx Or a nicer (Vista only) page: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb762584(VS.85).aspx

What would a sample look like? If I just wanted to show the path of 'My Documents' on a simple Edit box? It has nothing to do with sockets. See example code about half-way down this thread (link may wrap) http://deja.com/group/borland.public.cppbuilder.nativeapi/browse_thread/thread/7ce38efab0f8f813/861a6d7ac2d05364
