Indy installation

I need to install Indy10, I downloaded latest software (dec/26)
but can't install it!.

I first fixed some problems:

- I set NDC6 variable and was ok.
- I set NDWINSYS variable and was ok.
- I compiled computil and was ok.

But when everything seems to be fine, a got new problem. In the compilation of "Compile System", in the file IndySystem60.dpk got an error message:

Fatal: file not found: de.dpr

I looked for it but couldn't find it.

I tried to install Indy9, downloaded the latest version, dated
dec/26 and found the same error: File de.dpr not found.

There must be a complete set of Indy files for installation, many
of the links related to Indy are not working, for example support
page: http://www.indyproject.org/support.iwp

Where can I find a working version of the software?

Thanks for any help.

Why not? Please be more specific.

I already told you earlier what to do about that.

That variable is no longer needed. You can get rid of it.

Then why didn't you actually use it? It sets up the necessary environment
variables for the .bat file to use so you don't have to do it manually.

There is no such file, and there is no reference to any "de" package or unit
anywhere in Indy. You probably have a corrupted download.

The other possibility I can think of is you are trying to compile a
German-localized version of Indy. Are you? Indy does not contain any
localization files.

Then the fault has to be on your end, not in Indy itself.

You already have them.

Where did you get that link? That is an old link. If you go to Indy's
website and click on Support, it works fine.

Gambit

I apologize to write in 2 newsgroup, I won't do it again.

I'm using Indy 10, downloaded from:
http://www.indyproject.org/Sockets/Download/DevSnapshot.en.aspx

Then follow the FTP link to Fulgan.com (Switzerland) Mirror to:
ftp://indy.fulgan.com/ZIP/

Then downloaded file indy10.zip, 5.02 MB, 2006-12-26 23:40

Then unzipped file to:
E:\Archivos de programa\Borland\Indy10

OBS: "Archivos de programa" = "Program files" in spanish.

Then copied computil.exe file to .\Indy10\Lib directory.

Then run fullc6.bat file in a "DOS black" window in:
.\Indy10\Lib directory

Then got the following answer from above execution:

------------------------------------------

E:\Archivos de programa\Borland\Indy10\Lib>REM e:\"Archivos de programa"\Borland\CBuilder6

E:\Archivos de programa\Borland\Indy10\Lib>REM e:\"Archivos de programa"\Borland\CBuilder6

Borland Delphi Version 14.0
Copyright (c) 1983,2002 Borland Software Corporation
Fatal: File not found: 'de.dpr'
! Error occured

-------------------------------------------

This is all I have done many times, please tell me what's wrong.

Thanks for your help.

Like I said earlier, there is no reference to any de.dpr file anywhere in
Indy. The compiler has to be picking it up from somewhere else outside of
Indy.

Do you have any idea where it may come from?, The very first
time I used dcc32.exe was yesterday to compile computil.exe

Any help will be apreciated.

I have no clue. But it is not coming from Indy.

If it is not coming from Indy, it must be coming from Borland,
so please help me.

Can you compile the files for me?
Is there any other site to download the precompiled files?

I can't help you with this problem. I have no clue why it is happening. I
have never heard of it happening before.

> Can you compile the files for me?

I will not do that. It has to be compiled on your machine with your
compiler that will be using it. That is why it is distributed as source
code to begin with.

> Is there any other site to download the precompiled files?

No.

If it were me, once Remy told me that file shouldn't be referenced
anywhere, I would look for the offending reference by doing a
search/find-in-file over the entire borland folder tree, and all
project or Indy folders. I would also check the enviroment settings.

Having failed that, I would search the projects for "de" on the theory
that the compiler added the ".dpr"

Having failed that, I'd try downloading from an English (UK or US)
site.
