Like many people I use the free Turbo C++ and try to use Indy 9 components. Where can I find the process to to compile and install it manually Indy 9 ?

You need the Pro version in order to do that. Gambit

It seems that I need the lib files, so what is the process for build them ? Then your only option is to first compile Indy into a .lib or .dll using a different IDE/compiler, and then have your Turbo project load it accordingly. > It seems that I need the lib files, so what is the process for build them ? You cannot build them with Turbo. Besides, Turbo didn't even exist when Indy 9 was last updated, so there are no build files for it anyway. The last version supported by Indy 9 was BCB 6. imply run the fullc6.bat script to compile Indy using BCB6's compiler. Gambit

Wich Indy version is compliant with BCB 5 that I have ? and is it even still available ? Remy, I have create a new lib project for my BCB5, and add to this project
all *.pas files found in theindy9 directory.
The compilation failed because it requests some files that are referenced in
the IdCompressionIntercept.pas:
...
{$IFDEF MSWINDOWS}
{$L deflate.obj}
{$L inflate.obj}
{$L inftrees.obj}
{$L trees.obj}
{$L adler32.obj}
{$L infblock.obj}
{$L infcodes.obj}
{$L infutil.obj}
{$L inffast.obj}
...
What must I do for creating this Indy 9 lib file with BCB 5 without error ?
Sam

Why did you do that? Indy 9 already has a way to be compiled in BCB. You did not need to make a new project for it. I told you earlier that all you have to do is run the fullc#.bat script for your compiler version, in this case fullc5.bat. Gambit

Remy, sorry for my bad understanding. Now I have done the following step: 1) Create a new projet with Turbo C++ free version 2) Add the Indy50.lib to my project that has been created by the fullc5.bat 3) Add the header #include <IdHTTP.hpp> in my code 4) Add the path of this header at the indy C5 is location 5) Try a compilation at this time: OK ! 6) I drop a button and on click event I add: TIdHTTP *Http= new TIdHTTP(NULL);delete Http; 7) I make a full compilation and I get 18 errors: [Lieur Erreur] Error: Externe '__tpdsc__ System::String' non rsolu rfrenc par C:\INDY\C5\INDY50.LIB|IdHTTP [Lieur Erreur] Error: Externe 'System::__linkproc__ __fastcall FinalizeArray()' non rsolu rfrenc par C:\INDY\C5\INDY50.LIB|IdHTTP [Lieur Erreur] Error: Externe 'System::__linkproc__ __fastcall BeforeDestruction()' non rsolu rfrenc par C:\INDY\C5\INDY50.LIB|IdHTTP [Lieur Erreur] Error: Externe 'System::__linkproc__ __fastcall ClassDestroy()' non rsolu rfrenc par C:\INDY\C5\INDY50.LIB|IdComponent [Lieur Erreur] Error: Externe 'System::__linkproc__ __fastcall ClassCreate()' non rsolu rfrenc par C:\INDY\C5\INDY50.LIB|IdComponent [Lieur Erreur] Error: Externe 'System::__linkproc__ __fastcall AfterConstruction()' non rsolu rfrenc par C:\INDY\C5\INDY50.LIB|IdStack [Lieur Erreur] Error: Externe 'System::__linkproc__ __fastcall LStrClr(System::AnsiString&)' non rsolu rfrenc par C:\INDY\C5\INDY50.LIB|IdStack [Lieur Erreur] Error: Externe 'System::__linkproc__ __fastcall LStrAsg()' non rsolu rfrenc par C:\INDY\C5\INDY50.LIB|IdStack [Lieur Erreur] Error: Externe 'System::__linkproc__ __fastcall LStrArrayClr()' non rsolu rfrenc par C:\INDY\C5\INDY50.LIB|IdStack [Lieur Erreur] Error: Externe 'System::__linkproc__ __fastcall LStrAddRef()' non rsolu rfrenc par C:\INDY\C5\INDY50.LIB|IdStackWinsock [Lieur Erreur] Error: Externe 'System::__linkproc__ __fastcall LStrToPChar()' non rsolu rfrenc par C:\INDY\C5\INDY50.LIB|IdStackWinsock [Lieur Erreur] Error: Externe 'System::__linkproc__ __fastcall LStrLen()' non rsolu rfrenc par C:\INDY\C5\INDY50.LIB|IdStackWinsock [Lieur Erreur] Error: Externe 'System::__linkproc__ __fastcall FillChar()' non rsolu rfrenc par C:\INDY\C5\INDY50.LIB|IdStackWinsock [Lieur Erreur] Error: Externe '__fastcall Classes::TStream::SetPosition(int)' non rsolu rfrenc par C:\INDY\C5\INDY50.LIB|IdTCPConnection [Lieur Erreur] Error: Externe 'System::__linkproc__ __fastcall LStrLAsg()' non rsolu rfrenc par C:\INDY\C5\INDY50.LIB|IdTCPConnection [Lieur Erreur] Error: Externe 'System::__linkproc__ __fastcall IsClass()' non rsolu rfrenc par C:\INDY\C5\INDY50.LIB|IdSocks [Lieur Erreur] Error: Externe 'System::__linkproc__ __fastcall AsClass()' non rsolu rfrenc par C:\INDY\C5\INDY50.LIB|IdSocks [Lieur Erreur] Error: Externe 'System::__linkproc__ __fastcall PStrCpy()' non rsolu rfrenc par C:\INDY\C5\INDY50.LIB|IdCoder3To4 -------------------------- Thanks for help. Library files are compiler version specific. You have to compile the library using the Turbo compiler in order to use it with the Turbo compiler. The only way you will be able to compile Indy using BCB 5 and then use it in Turbo is to wrap your Indy-related code into a DLL instead, and then either generate a Turbo-compatible import lib for the DLL or load the DLL dynamically at runtime using LoadLibrary() and GetProcAddress().
