Hi,
We have code as following:
if (ip4 == INADDR_LOOPBACK)
{
in6_addr ip6 = in6addr_loopback;
ACE_OS::memcpy (&this->inet_addr_.in6_.sin6_addr,
&ip6,
sizeof (ip6));
return 0;
}
in6addr_loopback is defined in ws2tcpip.h as following:
extern const struct in6_addr in6addr_any;
extern const struct in6_addr in6addr_loopback;
When we now link our library we get the following link errors. How can we
resolve them?
Error: Unresolved external '_in6addr_any' referenced from
C:\ACE\LATEST\ACE_WRAPPERS\ACE\OBJ\ACE\DYNAMIC\DEBUG\INET_ADDR
.OBJ
Error: Unresolved external '_in6addr_loopback' referenced from
C:\ACE\LATEST\ACE_WRAPPERS\ACE\OBJ\ACE\DYNAMIC\DEBUG\INET
_ADDR.OBJ
** error 2 ** deleting ..\lib\ACE_bd.dll
Regards,
Johnny

Hi, We have it there already because we have a lot of IPv4 code that works without problems, only with IPv6 we now get link errors. Ok, thanks to FileZilla / Google (http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/filezilla/FileZilla3/src/putty/windows/winnet.c?rev=1.2) <g>, you might have a solution. Define them like this: const struct in6_addr in6addr_any = IN6ADDR_ANY_INIT; const struct in6_addr in6addr_loopback = IN6ADDR_LOOPBACK_INIT; Also, those structs are inside the MS w2_32.lib file, but not in Borland's. I suspect that MS decided to use a static library. HTH Jonathan
