I have a suite of applications written in BCB6, Delphi7 and Kylix3. They are running on separete computers with WinXP and RedHat Linux. Computers are connected to each other via a local ethernet hub. Applications communicate with each other by TCP/IP and UDP without any problem. Now I need to put one of the computer on a mobile platform and it will communicate with the other computer over long distances via radio modem. (Wireless ethernet is not an option due to long distance). How can I confgure WinXP and RedHat Linux to redirect its ethernet activity (TCP/IP and UDP) to serial port ?

There is no configuration for that. You will have to either: 1) re-write your code to access the serial port directly 2) make a separate proxy program that the main application can connect to via TCP/UDP and have the proxy forward everything back and forth to/from the serial port. 3) write a low-level NDIS driver that hooks the socket stack directly and then handles forwarding data to/from the serial port. I don't know if this will work for Linux, though. Gambit
