I have a VCL application that is to run on a windows server. Therefore, it needs to shut down nicely when the server is shutdown or rebooted. Things worked fine for the application in CppBuilder 6.0. However, as soon as I ported it to Developer Studio 2006, it will not longer shut down automatically. When the user chooses to shut down (or restart) windows, they are presented with a End application window that they have to click on to close the app. Otherwise, the shutdown is stopped. I created a new test application that consisted only of a VCL form with nothing else. This also exhibits the same behavior, so it is something with the new envirement and no additional code. I have reproduced this on XP as well as Windows 2003 Server. Can anyone help me on this?

I don't know what has changed that would do this. Sure you could investigate it but why bother. You will receive a WM_QUERYENDSESSION message in the main application window. Return TRUE to Windows. A WM_ENDSESSION will follow. Call Application->Terminate() and return zero to Windows. .
