video file duration and resolution

hi ,i want to open a video file(avi,mpeg)and to retrieve its
duration(i mean length..how many minutes)and  its resolution.i tryed
to do the following.to retrieve an images resolution is simple..load
the image in a image component autosize the component and the width
and height of the component is the images resolution..unfortunatly
that doesnt work with mediaplayer..i open the video file with media
player and i load it in a ole container or a animate..the ole doesnt
autosize(the property doesnt work) and the animate works only for some
avi(no mpeg no other video files ..returns exception message).ho can i
do this?
