Alan (and all) As an intro: I am an old retired guy who taught himself C++; I do this for fun. I am also an amateur lepidopterist, and I have written a good many programs I use in connection with my collection. One such program (with some age on it) pops up relevant data about a critter - range, habitat, food plants, etc., including a picture. What I decided to do the other day was add a browse feature. If the bug in my hand is not quite a match for what the program produces, I wanted the ability to browse up or down (the collection is arranged in supposedly evolutionary order.) This was simple to do, but I wrote the old part of the program to accept "Enter" as a way of beginning the search for the bug in the spotlight at the time, so after pressing "Browse up" I next must press "Enter". It works well, but I am wondering if I can press "Enter" with a line of code. Were I rewriting the program what I want would be simple. What I want to do is add a line and eliminate a keystroke. Too, I am curious about how I can do this; it has never come up before. If anyone has an answer, I would appreciate it.
