I think Hans was trying say that you could move stuff around for
faster processing.
Instead of
for( i=0; i<160; i++)
(
 HDC hdcMem = CreateCompatibleDC(NULL);
  HBITMAP hbmT = SelectBitmap(hdcMem,hbm);
  BITMAP bm;
  GetObject(hbm,sizeof(bm),&bm);
  BitBlt(hdc,0,0,bm.bmWidth,bm.bmHeight,hdcMem,0,0,SRCCOPY);
}

You could do
 HDC hdcMem = CreateCompatibleDC(NULL);
  HBITMAP hbmT = SelectBitmap(hdcMem,hbm);
  BITMAP bm;
  GetObject(hbm,sizeof(bm),&bm);
for( i=0;i<160;i++)
{
  BitBlt(hdc,0,0,bm.bmWidth,bm.bmHeight,hdcMem,0,0,SRCCOPY);
}
