ah...ok.  The coordinates are in the records that I am reading from a text
file for testing.  They are in longitude / latitude.  Each are in text which
I convert to a floating point, then to an integer by multiplying by 1000.
My map becomes from -180000 to +180000 x -90000 to +90000.

There may be better ways of doing this, but as I've said, I'm just learning.

I'm off to try the offscreen bitmap..........
