Because it is a Microsoft-specific feature, Borland has no support for it at all. Any identifier that begins with two leading underscores is a vendor-specific compiler extension. The C++ standard allows vendors (Microsoft, Borland, etc) to implement their own custom features to the C++ language inside their compilers directly, as long as the features begin with leading underscores.
