format in waveInOpen

If I call waveInOpen with WAVE_FORMAT_PCM I get no error.
If I use another format e.g. WAVE_FORMAT_IMA_ADPCM I get error 32 (that I
can't find in mmsystem.h).

The codec is installed like i can see in Codec Audio Properties.

Ther is something to do?
