At a Borland conference a few years ago, someone assured me that there was a speech synthesis .dll buried somewhere within the Windows API. Is this true? If so, can someone send me a link to its documentation? Or tell me its name? I'm looking for an implementation of the old Votrax "synthesis by rule" chip, but something hopefully already included in Windows software. I don't want "text-to-speech." I want to be able to call up the individual phones and phonemes... I'd appreciate any pointers. Or sources for the old Votrax equipment (they seem to have dried up on eBay). Thanks, Nick Gessler, Ph.D.
