Ah, I guess I see. I intercept WM_NCHITTEST, set Message.Result 
= 0 and do my own processing instead including drag and drop 
handling. I have just started playing around with it and it 
seems to work, but I have difficulties to distinguish moves and 
resizes and clicks, what Windows would do for me if I hadn't 
intercepted WM_NCHITTEST.

It is  interesting and I learned a great deal. Thank you.

However, I still like my idea of drawing controls to my canvas,
so I will also ask in the graphics group for advice and decide
for the better technique in the end.
